Experimentations: A Graduate Student Conference in German and Scandinavian Studies
This is the second graduate student conference held by German and Scandinavian Studies. Students will present papers on both current and traditional German and Scandinavian cultural products and trends, in panels on politics, questioning authority, representing gender, and more.
The graduate students in German and Scandinavian Studies will host their 2nd annual graduate student conference February 18-19. Titled “Experimentations: A Graduate Student Conference in German and Scandinavian Studies,” the event will highlight interdisciplinary work that encompasses innovative approaches in art history, political science, women’s studies and literary criticism. Sixteen students from around the world will present papers on topics as varied as science-fiction film, Third Reich photography, and the idea of homeland identity among immigrants. All events are free and open to the public, and will be held in 601 Herter Hall.
