I have long been intrigued by the music and the personas of the 80's rock band Guns n' Roses. Their relentless emotional intensity inspires and energizes me in a way few things can.
I developed this project with interest in the band's inspirations and the medium of digital design and illustration--and the way these elements complement each other. Axl Rose's lyrics were an allegory of the life he shared with his fellow city dwellers. These narratives are powerful evocations of people and situations that become recreated in the mind of the listener. The images that Welcome to the Jungle consists of are my personal interpretations of the stories and the sounds invented by the one and only Guns n' Roses.
Directions & Parking
The Student Union Building is in the central area of the UMass campus. The Art Gallery is on the first floor of the Student Union, located on the South Side the Building, across from Earth Foods and the Cape Cod Lounge. Parking is available in the adjacent Campus Center Parking Garage.
