Renewable Energy Technology for the 21st Century

Development of renewable energy sources will be a significant economic driver in the 21st century -- the market success of wind power can serve as a blueprint. This talk will address market drivers, government policies and incentives, and technologies driving the rapid evolution of wind power. Promising clean energy technologies and sources will be assessed along with GE technology approaches to: PV, Geothermal, Biogas, Hydrogen, and Desalination.

Dr. James P. Lyons is Chief Engineer, Electrical Energy Technologies, for GE Global Research, responsible for product applications across all GE businesses. He has been a corporate champion for wind energy within GE and one of the founding leaders of GE's wind energy business.
