X-Ray Facility Reception and Open Labs
The College of Natural Science and Mathematics and its Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are celebrating the new macromolecular X-ray diffraction facility on the 10th floor of Lederle Tower. The facility collects diffraction data in order to solve the structures of biomolecules at atomic resolution. Whether you have a general interest in structural biology or have specific questions about using this technique in your own research, do join us for the reception and for a tour. Undergraduates, graduates and faculty will demonstrate crystallization, diffraction data collection and structural analysis, and you are invited to participate in various hands-on exercises demonstrating some of the steps in solving a structure by crystallography.
