Ibdaa! Youth Folk Dance Troupe from Palestine

Palestinian youth dancers from Dheisheh refugee camp in the West Bank will be touring the United States this fall. The national tour is an opportunity to challenge the negative stereotypes of Arab people by presenting the beautiful traditions of Palestinian culture and giving Americans the opportunity to interact with these articulate, thoughtful and inspiring youth. We are pleased to announce that the first stop on the Ibdaa Dance Troupe's US tour will be here in the Pioneer Valley. A reception with the dancers will follow.

This performance is sponsored by the Arab Students Club at UMass, co-sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee, Buddhist Peace Fellowship of the Pioneer Valley, Faculty for Israeli Palestinian Peace, Media Education Foundation, Middle East Children’s Alliance, Middle East Peace Coalition, Palestinian Action Coalition of UMASS, SAGE, Western MA Interfaith Coalition for Peace and Justice and made possible through generous grants from the Student Affairs Cultural Enrichment Fund at UMASS, the UMASS Arts Council and The Hamilton Fund and Religion Department at Amherst College.
