The Inventions of Leonardo da Vinci

Herter Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition entitled:

“The Inventions of Leonardo da Vinci."

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), was perhaps the most versatile genius the world has ever known. Incredibly, the man who painted the “Mona Lisa” also conceived ideas for ingenious machines that anticipated by hundreds of years such innovations as the helicopter, the parachute and the armored tank.

This current exhibition is comprised of sixteen models that were created by the engineers at IBM Corporation, with a view to reconstructing as accurately as possible, some of the visionary ideas for machines and mechanical devices, originally contained in the sketchbooks of Leonardo.

“The Inventions of Leonardo da Vinci” is a user friendly interpretive exhibition, encouraging visitors to explore artistic and scientific concepts through hands-on experiences with working models.

The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Regular gallery hours are:

Mon.-Fri. 11am-4pm

Sun. 1pm-4pm

(closed Saturdays)
