Midnight Madness
Midnight Madness returns to UMass. Doors open at 10 p.m., with festivities getting underway at 10:30 p.m. This will be the fans first chance to see the new and improved UMass basketball teams. Travis Ford leads the men's team into his first season with the Minutemen while Marnie Dacko returns for her fourth season with the Minutewomen.
The first 1,000 fans will receive black "Midnight Madness" T-shirts. There will be a chance for one lucky fan to win $5,000 in a Half-Court Contest.
A video board will be brought showing highlights and and footage from the teams. The men's team will have a Slam Dunk Contest and will take part in a scrimmage. The women's team will also be on hand.
As part of the fan involvement, there will be a Hot Wing Eating Contest; Win-A-Date Encounter and a Fear Factor Battle.
The night is sponsored by Lazer 99.3 and ABC 40.
