Research to Practice: Science for Sustainable Water Resources
The third annual Massachusetts Water Resources Conference, "Research to Practice: Science for Sustainable Water Resources," is hosted by the Water Resources Research Center and the New England Regional Extension Water Quality Program.
The conference will feature four themes in concurrent sessions throughout the day: Biological Response and Ecological Impacts; Critical Contaminants; Water Resources Monitoring, Modeling and Assessment; and Protecting and Restoring Water Resources, including presentations on the occurrence and regulation of perchlorate, remediation of chloride contamination at salt storage facilities, microbial source tracking, stormwater management and other.
Keynote speakers Sandra Postel, director of the Global Water Policy Project, and Brian Richter, director of Nature Conservancy’s Freshwater Initiative, will present Rivers for Life: Managing Water for People and Nature.
The conference serves as a forum for university researchers and extension educators, local, state, and federal agency staff, industry, and non-profit organizations to share and gain new information on water-related research and emerging issues.
