Celebrating 20 Years of The Stonewall Center
Celebrating 20 Years of the Stonewall Center celebrates the history and achievements of the Stonewall Center, the lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender educational resource center at UMass Amherst. The exhibit includes documents and newspaper articles from 1985, as well as current material. The exhibit addresses the historical context in which the Stonewall Center was formed and contains the original student demands and reports that convinced UMass Amherst to support the program. It also illustrates some of the positive changes that have taken place since the center’s creation.
