Computational Biology Special Interest Group
Formerly known as the Bioinformatics Special Interest Group, the group changed its name during its last meeting in June.
At this meeting there will be two guest speakers to discuss software and methodologies for analyzing genetic and genomic data. Bob Handsaker, a consultant with the Broadband Institute of MIT and Harvard, will present the following: “The Broad Institute Genetic Analysis Platform.” Michael Brudno, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, will speak on the following topic: “Alignment of Whole Genomes: Algorithms and Tools.” Pizza and drinks will be served.
