J.J. Sedelmaier, Animation Director and Producer
J.J. Sedelmaier, the acclaimed director and animation visionary, will visit the Dept. of Art and Art History this Friday, March 25th. He will be bringing a reel of his studio's award-winning work in animated television programs, humorous shorts and cutting edge commercials. J.J. is enthusiastic about talking to students regarding their career choices in animation. He will also speak about his experiences working with clients like MTV and Saturday Night Live. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
J.J. Sedelmaier is president of J.J. Sedelmaier Productions, White Plains, NY. Established in 1991, the award-winning studio has brought to life many of the seminal broadcast animation projects of recent years, ranging from the launch season of MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head, to creating an original series of edgy shorts from 1996 to 1999 called Saturday TV Funhouse (including The Ambiguously Gay Duo and The X-Presidents) for NBC's Saturday Night Live, to the retro-hip Japanimation style VW "Speed Racer" commercial.
The studio also resurrected the "SchoolHouse Rock" series for ABC. Other clients include all the major television networks and popular brands like Nike, Converse, Old Navy, Ortho and FootJoy. Awards include several Telly Awards; Art Director's Club Gold Awards, and top honors from the Annie Awards, Annecy, and various Worldfests.
