Robert A. Hill Lecture: The Enduring Greatness of the Souls of Black Folks

Robert A. Hill, professor in the department of history and African studies at UCLA, will give a talk on “The Enduring Greatness of the Souls of Black Folks.”
Du Bois was born Feb. 23, 1868 in Great Barrington. The Library marks Du Bois’ birthday each year with a special event.
Hill has been at UCLA since 1977 where he established and is the editor-in-chief of The Marcus Garvey and Universal Negro Improvement Association Papers Project, within the James S. Coleman African Studies Center. Hill has served as an important member of several advisory committees for various documentary projects, including the W.E.B. Du Bois Film Project and The Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers Project.
He was executive consultant in the making of the film, "Marcus Garvey: Look for Me in the Whirlwind" and he is the author of numerous essays and books. Hill is also the editor of two forthcoming volumes, "The Rastafari Bible: JAH Version" and "Lion Zion: Marcus Garvey and the Jews."
