International Movie Series: Maria Full of Grace

Winner of the Dramatic Audience Award at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, Maria Full of Grace is the story of a young Colombian woman who leaves her family and menial job to work as a "mule", transporting heroin from Columbia to the United States. Maria’s desire to break free from poverty and the difficult choices she must make eventually lead her into adulthood, and in that journey the film examines the meaning of grace and a life of virtue.
