Exhibit: "The Raconteur"

“The Raconteur” (Short Stories, Tall Visuals) is a group exhibition/installation co-curated by Geoffrey Miller and Shane Campbell -- both of whom have works in the show. Geoffrey Milleris a recent UMass MFA graduate student who currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NYC. Also featured in the show is work by Sarah Purnell '10.

An interesting part of the contemporary art scene in NYC is the vibrancy of the work being produced by the hundreds of young, emerging artists -- many of whom are based in Brooklyn -- as they try to negotiate the always difficult balance between earning a living and trying to establish a viable professional art career. "The Raconteur" is a part of a sequential narrative installation project that Geoffrey and Shane Campbell have been working on for a space in Williamsburg. For its Herter incarnation, the project will be expanded to include the work of others who are part of a larger community of visual artists with whom Geoffrey and Shane are in regular contact.

The other participating artists are:

Chris Bertholf
Shane Campbell
Sean Campbell
Donna Hunt
Jungah Kim
Geoffrey Owen Miller
Jung Eun Park
Sara Purnell
Molly Roth

The exhibition is free and open to all Five College Students, Faculty, Staff and the general public.

Gallery hours: Mon-Fri : 11-4 and Sun: 1-4pm (the gallery is closed Saturdays)
