Mass. State Police Graduation Ceremony

Graduation for the seventy-seventh recruit training troop.

This graduation ceremony is an all day affair, which begins with the static display of State Police specialty equipment, accompanied by the members of the units that use the equipment. There is a military style parade and troop movement demonstration, as well as demonstrations by the recruits of the skills they have been taught during the previous twenty-five weeks.

The formal graduation ceremony is normally attended by recruit family members, State Police Command Staff and heads of state; however it is open to the general public.

The Massachusetts State Police was created in 1865, making it the oldest statewide law enforcement agency in the nation.
