Adults
Through discussions and hands-on experiences,
adults in EFNEP learn how to improve the nutritional quality of
the meals they serve their families. The learn-by-doing approach
gives participants the knowledge and skills they need to select,
prepare, and store healthful foods and handle foods safely to prevent
food-borne illness. Participants also learn how to get the most
value for their food dollars.
Nutrition educators, who come from the target
communities, deliver EFNEP as a series of seven lessons. Participants
receive a graduation certificate upon completing the program. EFNEP
programs for adults are located in Brockton, Lawrence, Fall River, Springfield, and Worcester.
