Information
The Central Region NEP office, located in Worcester, offers both adult and youth programs in the greater Worcester area. Programs are also offered in Southbridge, Fitchburg and Leominster. Programs are delivered by professional staff and trained nutrition educators serving community agencies such as employment and training programs, pregnant and parenting teen programs, shelters, rehabilitation programs, mental health programs, Head Start and after-school and summer youth programs.

Programs

Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Programs (EFNEP)
EFNEP is a program for limited resource families, especially those with young children. Participants gain knowledge and skills to plan low-cost nutritious meals, handle food safely and manage available food resources. EFNEP is delivered by trained nutrition educators and includes both adult and youth programs.

Family Nutrition Program (FNP)
FNP is a federally funded initiative to provide nutrition education for individuals and families who receive food stamps.

Directions

From Boston (Mass Pike)

  1. Take Mass Pike (I-90) West to exit 10.
  2. After tolls take I-290 East to exit 17(Route 9 West).
  3. Proceed on Route 9 West to Park Ave. (Route 9 & 12).
  4. Take left onto Park Ave. at Elm Park.
  5. Proceed to 2nd set of lights and take a left onto Pleasant St., then take 1st right onto Dewey St.
  6. The parking lot for the center is on your left, across from the entrance to the MLK Building.

From Points West:

  1. Travel east on Mass Pike (I-90) to exit 10. Follow same as above from exit 10 Mass Pike.
    Or
  2. Travel east on Route 9 to Chandler St. Take right onto Chandler St., and then 1st left onto Dewey St. The parking lot is on your right, across from the entrance to the MLK Building.

From Points North & South:
Providence

  1. Take Route 146 North to Route 290 East. Once in Worcester, take exit 17 (Route 9 West).
  2. Follow same as above from exit 17.
  3. Route 495 North or South
  4. Take 495 to 290 West to exit for Route 9 West and follow directions above.

Route 128 North or South

  1. Take Route 128 to Mass Pike (I-90) and follow the Mass Pike directions from Boston.
