Information
The Springfield NEP Office offers a variety of adult and youth programs for the Greater Springfield, Holyoke, and Westfield areas. Programs are delivered by professional staff and trained nutrition educators serving community agencies such as employment and training programs, pregnant and parenting teen programs, shelters, rehabilitation programs, community correction programs, mental health programs, farmers markets and after-school and summer youth programs.

Programs

Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)
EFNEP is a program for limited resource families, especially families with young children. EFNEP participants gain knowledge and skills to plan low-cost nutritious meals, prepare food safely, and manage available food resources. The program is delivered by nutrition educators and includes both adult and youth programs.

Family Nutrition Program (FNP)
FNP is a federally funded initiative to provide nutrition information to individuals and families who receive food stamps.

Food Safety Education Program
This program provides food safety education and training to consumers and food workers in child and elder care, school food service, shelters, pantries and other human service and regulatory agencies.

Directions

Springfield Office:
From Mass Turnpike (I-90) East or Westbound

  1. Take Exit 6-Springfield. Pass through toll booth and turn left at traffic light onto I-291.
  2. Take Exit 4-St. James Ave. Turn left at traffic light onto St. James Avenue.
  3. Proceed through 3 traffic lights. At 4th traffic light, turn left onto State St.
  4. Continue up State St. (through 2 sets of lights) to a fork in the road, which is Wilbraham Rd.
  5. Keep to the right and stay in the right lane.
  6. At the traffic light immediately after the fork, turn right onto Eastern Ave.
  7. At the next traffic light, turn left onto King St. (Holy Family Church will be on you right)
  8. Take your 2nd left, Wilbraham Ave. MCDI sign on the corner. Parking Lot A for visitors is on the right.

From I-91 South

  1. Take I-291
  2. Take Exit 4-St. James Ave. Follow same directions above.
