Information
As part of the Department of Nutrition within the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences, NEP extends university research and teaching to Massachusetts communities. Across Massachusetts, NEP offices serve as focal points for the design, delivery and evaluation of nutrition programs. They provide local leadership in areas of needs assessment, community partnerships, and staff training and development.

Programs

Nutrition education is provided through the Family Nutrition Program (FNP), a federally funded initiative to provide nutrition education to individuals and families who receive food stamps. The South Hadley office works with youth in Holyoke, Chicopee and Greenfield.
