PRODUCTION DATES/IDENTIFYING CODES: Produced 9/15/2004. The products subject to recall are: One pound bags of "TRADER JOE'S PORK GYOZA POTSTICKERS, PORK AND VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS." Each bag bears the code "2594DL1," on the bottom left corner, as well as "Est. 17309" inside the USDA mark of inspection, which is located on the nutrition facts panel.
PROBLEM/REASON FOR RECALL: The packages state that the gyozas are filled with pork, but they may instead contain shrimp, a known allergen.
HOW/WHEN DISCOVERED: The problem was discovered after the establishment received a consumer complaint.
