PRODUCTS RECALLED: Chicken Frankfurters

PRODUCTION DATES/IDENTIFYING CODES: Produced November 27, 2002. The
products subject to recall are 16-ounce packages of "Sweet Meadow Farms
Brand, CHICKEN FRANKFURTERS." Each label bears the establishment number
"P-5281" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each package also bears the
sell by date, "JAN 29."

PROBLEM/REASON FOR RECALL: The product may be contaminated with Listeria
monocytogenes.

HOW/WHEN DISCOVERED: The firm notified the Food Safety and Inspection
Service (FSIS) that it was recalling the product based on notification, by
the New York Department of Agriculture and Markets, that a retail monitoring
sample collected and analyzed by that department indicated the presence of
Listeria monocytogenes.
