Workshops for Teachers on the Farm
Join us for one of these Seasonal Workshops for Teachers on the Farm
Each Workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Fee $30 each
- Thursday, June 26, 2008, - Organic Gardening at the School and the Farm at Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset.
- Tuesday, July 1, 2008, - Open Space and Farmland Protection at The Doyle Conservation Center of the Trustees of Reservations in Leominster.
- Wednesday, July 2, 2008, - Buying Local Workshop at Cooper's Hilltop Dairy Farm in Rochdale and Breezy Gardens in Leicester.
- Tuesday, July 8, 2008, - Grazing, Pasture and Pasture Crops for Biomass Fuels at the
UMass Crop and Animal Research Education Farm, South Deerfield.
- Thursday, July 10, 2008, - Horticultural Therapy Adaptations at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown.
- Wednesday, July 16, 2008, - Renewable Energy and Sustainable Agriculture at Hancock Shaker Village in Hancock (Pittsfield).
- Thursday, July 17, 2008, - Dairy Farming, Milk and Ice Cream Production at
Shaw Farm, Dracut.
- Thursday, July 24, 2008, - Pollination, Beekeeping, Fruits & Vegetables, Meadowbrook Orchards, Sterling.
- Wednesday, July 23, 2008, - Chickens, Embryology and Heritage Breeds at Diemand Egg Farm in Miller's Falls.
- Thursday, July 31, 2008, Local Foods and Global Connections to the Food We Eat at Manda Farm in Plainfield.
- Wednesday, August 6, 2008, - Heritage Breeds, Heirloom Seeds, Local Foods and Sustainable Agriculture at Moon in the Pond Farm in Sheffield.
- Thursday, August 7, 2008, - Soils, Farm Viability and Agricultural Entertainment at Randall's Farm in Ludlow .
- Tuesday, August 12, 2008, - Dairy Goats, Ruminants and Making Goat Cheese at Bob Cote's Farm in Pascoag, Rhode Island.
Ten Professional Development Points are offered for each Workshop or Conference with accompanying classroom project. The fee of $30 for each workshop includes pdp's, lunch and all materials.
