Workshops for Teachers on the Farm
Join us for one of these Summer Workshops for Teachers on the Farm
Each Workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Fee $30 each (unless indicated otherwise)
- Thursday, June 25, 2009, - Sheep, Wool and Fiber Workshop at Sheep Pastures, Natural Resources Trust of Easton in North Easton. (Lunch is included).
- Tuesday, June 30, 2009, - Cranberries, Bogs and Wetlands Workshop at Flax Pond Cranberry Farm in Carver. (Lunch is included)
- Wednesday, July 1, 2009, - Horticulture, Gardening and Organic Farming Workshop at Elm Bank in Dover and the Natick Community Organic Farm. (Bring your own lunch)
- Tuesday, July 7, 2009, - Growing, Apples, Peaches and Pears Using Earth Friendly Practices Workshop at Small Ones Farm in Amherst.
- Thursday, July 9, 2009, - Field to Plate Connections at the School at L. D. Batchelder School in North Reading. (Lunch included)
- Tuesday, July 14, 2009, - Canning and Preserving of Locally Grown Foods at the Warren Farm and Sugarhouse and Brookfield Orchard in North Brookfield. (Bring your own lunch.) (additional $10 materials fee for canning of produce that participants will take home)
- Wednesday, July 15, 2009, - Raising Pigs for the Home Market & Nutritional Benefits of Locally Grown and Grass Fed Foods at Artichoke Farm in Newburyport. (Lunch is included.)
- Wednesday, July 22, 2009, - Changes in Massachusetts Agriculture Over Time at the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association/Memorial Hall Museum in Deerfield . (Lunch is included.)
- Tuesday, July 28, 2009, - Composting and Healthy Foods at the Hubbardston Center School and Country Hen in Hubbardston. (Lunch is included.)
- Wednesday, July 29, 2009, - Environmental History at Old Sturbridge Village at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge. (Lunch is included.)
- Wednesday, August 5, 2009, - Dairy Farming in Massachusetts and Connections to Agricultural Education at Stillman's Farm in Lunenburg. (Lunch is included.)
- Tuesday, August 11, 2009, - Daffodils, Community Supported Agriculture and Farm Education at Holiday Farm in Dalton . (Lunch is included.)
Ten Professional Development Points are offered for each Workshop or Conference with accompanying classroom project. The fee of $30 for each workshop includes pdp's, materials and lunch for some workshops.
