Biomass and Renewable Energy Workshop

Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner

Massachusetts Agriculture in the Classroom is sponsoring an education workshop for teachers at Mount Wachusetts Community College in Gardner on Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Titled “Keeping Your Classroom Fresh and Growing”, the workshop will focus on Biomass and Renewable Energy with activities for the classroom. The $30 fee includes lunch and all materials. Ten Professional Development Points are provided with accompanying classroom activity.

Saturday, May 10, takes us to Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner, where we’ll learn about biomass and other renewable energy resources that have been integrated into the campus energy plan. During the morning, Professor Thomas Montagno, will offer a renewable energy overview, provide-some hands-on activities for the classroom After lunch, he’ll take us on a tour of the biomass, solar, wind and other renewable energy operations on the campus. We will learn about the energy uses, financial savings and environmental impact.

Ten Professional Development Points are offered for each workshop with accompanying classroom project.  The $30 fee includes pdp's, lunch and all materials.
