We are an interdisciplinary research organization devoted to the study of learning and instruction in the sciences and mathematics. Our members come from and are associated with many disciplines, departments, and colleges on campus, including Psychology, Education, Engineering, Physics, and Biology. Our mission is to conduct research on reasoning and cognitive processes involved in the learning of science and mathematics, and to apply these findings to improve science and mathematics education.
The Psychological Services Center (PSC) provides psychotherapy services to individuals, families, children, and couples in both the UMass and local community. The PSC also provides clinical, consultation, and research services to individuals, as well as public and private organizations in the area of mental health and education. As of April 2006, resources for clinical research in psychology and the social sciences will include digital audio/video recording capability with multiple angled, split screen shots.PSC services are provided on a sliding-scale fee-for-service basis.
