Through highly skilled full time counselors MSBDC provides high-quality, in-depth counseling, training, and capital access to small businesses throughout Massachusetts. In addition to general business counseling in areas such as business plan development, cash flow analysis, market/sales strategies, and financial plan development, the MSBDC offers assistance in the areas of international trade, government contracting, technology commercialization, and minority-owned business development.
The UMass Family Business Center assists family companies to recognize common problems and find solutions to their unique challenges. The Center offers owners and managers a comprehensive learning community, including presentations by experts from the fields of psychology, management, law, accounting, financial and estate planning, and banking.
The Center for Economic Development is a research and community-oriented technical assistance center. Technical assistance is a key component of our work program. Technical assistance projects range from one day charettes or workshops on focused issues to Economic Master Plans for the community. Faculty and students will be involved in most technical assistance projects. CED charges a nominal fee for projects based on the scope of services and level of expertise required.
