Fitness & Wellness Laboratory

The Excercise Science department sponsors a fitness test and evaluation program to students, faculty, staff, and the community. The goals of the program are to provide multiphase physical fitness testing to determine risk of coronary heart disease and sports injury, for those planning to begin a fitness program, for overweight individuals and for research and development of exercise and fitness-testing programs.

Computational Biology Laboratory

The UMass Amherst Computational Biology Lab in the Department of Computer Science is concerned with computational and modeling problems behind many of the major questions in molecular biology and genetics. Our bioinformatics research involves the use of machine learning, modeling, and optimization techniques for DNA and protein sequence analysis.
