X-Ray Fluorescence Laboratory

Facility provides high quality major and trace element XRF analyses of a wide range of geological materials. It is a regional analytical facility serving the research needs of faculty and students at UMass, other members of the local Five College community, and a wide spectrum of geologists and their students throughout the country. X-Ray Fluorescence analytical methods have been used extensively for the analyses of lunar rocks, meteorites, and a wide range of terrestrial materials.
