Exercise Physiology Laboratory

The Exercise Physiology Laboratory houses a range of equipement for measuring and monitoring human metabolic activity during exertion, including measurements of resting metabolic rate.

Lab equipment includes on-line data acquisition system for evaluation of respiratory gas exchange, 6 ft x 8 ft treadmill (can be used for in-line skating and roller skiing), automated lactate and glucose analyzers, telemetry heart-rate monitors, portable oxygen uptake measurement system, computer-based anaerobic power measurement system, underwater weighing tank, and a core temperature monitoring system
