Pediatrics

UHS Pediatrics

If you’ve got kids, you know the importance of great pediatric care. You also know that juggling work or school with medical appointments isn’t easy. That’s where UHS comes in!

Pediatrics and family practice specialists care for the children of UMass Amherst students, faculty and staff at our convenient campus location. Our on-site lab and radiology departments, full-service pharmacy and walk-in care clinic are here when you need us!

We care for kids from infancy through adolescence, including:

  • routine well-care visits;
  • sick visits;
  • immunizations, including travel medicine;
  • hearing screening;
  • vision screening;
  • developmental and behavioral visits; and
  • adolescent gynecological visits.

Emergency care
In an emergency, call 911 for ambulance transportation to a hospital emergency department.

Walk-in care
If your child is ill or injured and needs services outside of regular office hours, call 577-5229; the Advice Triage Nurse will help you choose the best course of care.

Walk-in care is available 24/7 during the academic semester, and from 8 a.m. – midnight during intersession. The staff of medical professionals will offer advice and see your child if necessary; an on-call pediatrician is also available as needed. Calls outside of operating hours are answered by nurses and nurse practitioners who can assist you or contact the on-call pediatrician.

To avoid waiting, we encourage appointments during clinic hours whenever possible.

Routine care
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., except on holidays. For an appointment, or to speak with a member of our team, call 577-5311 or 577-5411.

Timely tips...

If it’s your child’s first visit with us, please arrive ½ hour before the scheduled appointment to complete the registration process.

Bring all immunization records and any available medical records with you to this visit.

Save time by downloading the Pediatric Assessment Form from this website; bring the completed form to your appointment.

Established patients should arrive 15 minutes early for appointments, to allow for any necessary testing or paperwork.

Forms, records and prescriptions

To have medical forms completed for school or camp, obtain immunization records or request a prescription refill, call 577-5311; allow 48 working hours for these to be completed.
