The Center for Health Promotion

The Center for Health Promotion (CHP) is UMass Amherst's home for innovative programs, entertaining events, eye-catching materials about health and well-being, and more!
With support from Athletic Health Enhancement Program (AHEP) athletes maximize their achievements in the game, in the classroom and in life.

The CHP's Center for Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Prevention promotes an environment of responsible decision-making regarding alcohol and other drug use, on campus and in the community.

Our mission

The Center for Health Promotion advances healthy living as a strategy that supports academic and personal success. Students who interact with the programs, services and staff of the Center:

  • empower themselves to make health-enhancing choices that advance their individual health and the collective well-being of their communities;
  • engage fully in their academic and personal lives; and
  • develop their leadership skills.
