General Medical Care
UHS is not a hospital, and does not have an emergency department. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 for ambulance transportation to a hospital.
Ways to get care
Routine medical care: Make an appointment for services such as physicals, routine women's healthcare, well-baby checkups, medical monitoring of chronic conditions and follow-up for minor illnesses or injuries. Call (413) 577-5101.
Care for acute minor illness: Same-day or next-day appointments may be available for conditions including colds, sore throats, urinary tract infections or sexually transmitted illnesses. Call (413) 577-5101.
Walk-in care: For concerns that can’t wait for an appointment, come to the Walk-in Care department. Examples include injuries, possible fractures, asthma attacks, or abdominal pain. Come to UHS during clinic hours. To wait where you're most comfortable, text "clinic" to (413) 944-8562. You'll receive a response text with your number, and a reminder text when it's almost your turn to be seen.
