General Medical Care

UHS offers routine and walk-in outpatient care for adults and children.
We are not a hospital, and do not have an emergency department. In life-threatening emergencies, call 911 for ambulance transportation to a hospital.
How do I know what kind of care I need?
Call UHS’ Triage Advice Nurse, 577-5229.
We’re here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to help you choose the best course of care for your illness or injury.
What does UHS provide?
Routine medical care: Physicals, routine gynecologic care and/or contraceptive care, well-baby checkups, medical monitoring of chronic conditions and follow-up for minor illnesses or injuries. Schedule a visit by calling the appointment line, 577-5101.
Care for acute minor illness: Appointments are usually available within 24 hours by calling the appointment line, 577-5101, or the Triage Advice Nurse. Examples include colds, sore throats, urinary tract infections or sexually transmitted illnesses.
Walk-in care: For concerns that can’t wait for an appointment, use our walk-in care. Examples include injuries, possible fractures, asthma attacks, or abdominal pain. Call the Triage Advice Nurse before coming in, if possible; an open appointment may offer a shorter wait.
