Healthcare at UMass Amherst
An overview for conferences, camps and groups
University Health Services (UHS) provides comprehensive outpatient care for the campus community, including visitors.
Medical care is available 24 hours a day during the academic semester, and from 8 a.m. – midnight during summer and winter intersession. Mental health appointments are available from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with around-the-clock emergency services.
Care at UHS is on a fee-for-service basis. Visitors will be asked to provide primary insurance coverage information at the time of services. UHS will bill the primary insurance plan; patients are responsible for any remaining balance. UHS cannot accept Medicare, Medicaid or MassHealth.
The UHS Pharmacy fills prescriptions written by UHS providers; patients with prescription insurance coverage should present their card at the time of service.
Many camps, conferences and groups require attendees to complete a medical history form. Download a copy
