Crisis intervention
Emergency services are available 24/7/365. During regular business hours, call us at (413) 545-2337. After 5 p.m., on weekends or holidays, call UHS, (413) 577-5000.
Individual therapy
One-on-one meetings with a therapist to discuss your concerns; services are based on a short-term model.
Couples and family therapy
Sessions for partners and family offer a supportive environment to work on relationship issues.
Group therapy
Therapy groups bring people with similar concerns together with therapists, for a range of insight and support. Groups vary by semester; check out the current schedule.
Mental Health Services is also part of the Five College Group Psychotherapy Consortium. UMass Amherst, Smith College, Hampshire College and Mount Holyoke College students can attend groups on any campus.
Behavioral medicine
Programs include stress management, relaxation and biofeedback, a technique which can help you manage your body’s reactions; our experts also staff UHS’ mind/body medicine clinic.
Medication management
Medications may be part of your treatment plan. Our board-certified psychiatrists and psychiatric clinical nurse specialist can prescribe and monitor medications.
Eating disorders clinic
Nutritionists, medical and mental health providers assess and care for those with anorexia, bulimia and other eating disorders. Workshops and group therapy sessions also explore eating and body image issues.
Suicide prevention training
Learning the facts and signs around suicide may save a life. Call the Mental Health Services office for information.
