Fresh & Sober

Who is Fresh & Sober for?

  • Any student questioning their alcohol/drug use who’d like a non-judgmental person to talk with.
  • Any student new to recovery who’d like more information about Alcoholics Anonymous.
  • Any student new to the area who needs to find Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and fellowship.
  • Any student already in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous who’d like to reach out to other students and offer their experience, strength, and hope.
  • Anyone who has questions about alcoholism, drug use and abuse, recovery, and campus and community resources.

What does Fresh & Sober do?

  • Provides a mentoring system for students new to recovery or new to UMass Amherst.
  • Provides a support network for all UMass Amherst students in recovery.
  • Provides a safe place for students questioning their drinking or drug use to discuss their concerns.
  • Provides an anonymous space for students to discuss their thoughts, feelings, concerns and ideas on how to improve UMass Amherst for the recovering student.
  • Works to increase awareness and visibility of campus and community resources.
  • Works to increase institutional support for students in recovery.
