Voices Against Violence
Voices Against Violence challenges all forms of violence, particularly men's violence against women. It provides educational outreach and violence prevention in the UMass Amherst community, motivating female and male students to play a critical role in solving problems historically considered "women's issues" – rape, battering and sexual harassment.
Voices Against Violence regards participants as empowered bystanders who can confront abusive or violent peers. A major focus of the program is on men, because while most men do not commit violence, most violence is committed by men.
To get involved, register for the three-credit Voices Against Violence class (EDUC 292A) or volunteer for group projects taking place throughout the year.
