UMass Amherst's alcohol and drug policies support responsible decision-making and the university’s commitment to provide a civil, safe and healthful environment. Students are responsible for obtaining and adhering to these policies. Download them here.
Student regulations are part of the Code of Student Conduct administered by the Dean of Students' office; the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act applies to students, faculty and staff.
Looking for help or information? The Center for Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Prevention, in the Health Education department on the third floor of UHS, is home to BASICS, MyStudentBody, Fresh & Sober, peer health education and other initiatives.
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), on the lower level of UHS, is a confidential resource for employees. Services include substance abuse assessment, referral and self-help programs.
Health care providers at UHS and Mental Health Services are also valuable resources for anyone concerned about their substance use.
