Sally A. Linowski, Ph.D., C.H.E.S.

Dr. Linowski is a nationally recognized substance abuse prevention expert with nearly two decades of experience in implementation, research and higher education.
She is an adjunct faculty member of the UMass Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences; director of the Center for Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Prevention; co-chair of the Campus and Community Coalition to Reduce High-Risk Drinking; principal investigator of a U.S. Department of Education model program grant to enhance and disseminate the university’s BASICS program to reduce high-risk drinking; and principal investigator of a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant which funded BASICS' initial implementation.
A consultant and speaker with numerous media credits, she is also among the experts featured in Spin the Bottle, a Media Education Foundation documentary on popular culture and high-risk drinking.
A Certified Health Education Specialist, Dr. Linowski holds a bachelor’s degree in health administration and planning from the University of New Hampshire and earned her master's degree and doctorate in public health from UMass Amherst.
