Public Radio

WFCR at 88.5 FM is a public, noncommercial station broadcasting news, jazz, classical and world music programs. WFCR also operates 640 AM WNNZ, an all-news and information National Public Radio station, 88.5 FM HD2, and WFCR.org. Studios are located in Hampshire House, tel. (413) 545-0100.

The National Public Radio member station and Public Radio International and American Public Media affiliate serves almost 200,000 listeners in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hamphsire, Rhode Island, and New York. 88.5FM WFCR is the public radio licensee of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and operates with the advice and support of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith colleges. Student internships in news, marketing, music, and development are available, and students may be employed at the station as part-time control board operators, production assistants, or work study support staff. There is also a student radio station, WMUA, in the Campus Center.
