Parking

Parking Services aims to provide safe, orderly, and fair parking for employees, students, and visitors to campus. The goal is to make campus parking as convenient as possible, while promoting safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians, and ensuring free and continuous access to buildings and walkways for pedestrians and emergency vehicles.

Visitors may park in the Campus Center visitor Parking Garage, or use pay-meters located at various sites around campus. Permits are required in all University of Massachusetts Amherst parking lots from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After 5 p.m. and on weekends, anyone may park in non-reserved lots. Parking without the appropriate permit is never allowed in reserved spaces, such as handicapped spaces, resident staff and state vehicle spaces, fire lanes, access lanes or 24-hour reserved lots.

Parking permits may be purchased at Parking Services, located in Lot 25, north of the Mullins Center. Parking Services maintains waitlists for all parking lots.

Parking Services also encourages students and employees to consider alternative modes of transporation to and from campus by using the university’s Commuter Options Program. This program encourages alternatives to single-occupancy vehicle commuting, including carpooling, bicycling, transit, and pedestrian access.

All vehicles must comply with the University’s published parking regulations, which are available at Parking Services via the website: http://parking.umass.edu, or call (413) 545-0065.
