Military professionalism, officership, followership, customs and courtesies, organization and mission of the U.S. Air Force and its major commands in relation to role of U.S. strategic and tactical forces.

112 The Air Force Today II (2nd sem) 1 cr

Continuation of AERSTU 111. Composition and deployment of U.S. general purpose and Air Force support forces, operation of air tactics, and interrelationship of Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and Air Force units. Introduction to geopolitics, terrorism, and U.S. defense policy and strategy.

191A Advanced Physical Fitness
(both sem) 1 cr

Designed to encourage physical fitness and improve self-confidence. Warm-up exercises, calisthentics, running, various team sports. All exercises accomplished as a group.

223 The Air Force Way I (1st sem) 1 cr

Principal persons, events, and concepts contributing to emergence of American military aviation as separate arm. Period covered is from first manned balloon flights to end of World War II.

224 The Air Force Way II (2nd sem) 1 cr

Continuation of AERSTU 223. Covers period from World War II to the present. U.S. Air Force as a primary element of national security.

335 Air Force Leadership and Management I (1st sem)

Concepts of management and leadership in relation to the role of the U.S. Air Force officer. Includes leadership, followership, military briefing techniques, critical thinking, problem solving, management functions, power and influence, leadership authority and responsibility, conflict management, feedback, counseling, corrective supervision, situational leadership, motivation, and effective writing.

336 Air Force Leadership and Management II (2nd sem)

Continuation of AERSTU 335. Includes effective supervision, profession of arms, enlisted performance reporting techniques, leadership accountability, teambuilding, military ethics, ethics, effective writing, professional relations, officer evaluating techniques, officer professional development, and communication skills.

441 National Security Affairs I

Formulation and implementation of national security policy, issues of national strategy, and international and regional security issues. Focus on role of the armed forces in the national security process.

442 National Security Affairs II

Military officers in U.S. society, military-civilian relations, contemporary societal issues in the armed forces; supervision, discipline, and military justice; other pre-commissioning topics.
