Campus Activities
The Campus Activities Cluster of Student Affairs assists in creating a diverse
and multicultural University community by fostering a wide range of co-curricular
programs and activities. In cooperation with the Student Government Association,
(545-0341), Campus Activities seeks to maintain, improve and expand student
participation, decision making, leadership development and policy setting in
order to best serve the needs of the University community. Staff assist students,
staff, and faculty in responsibly planning social, cultural, and educational
activities. A resource room for Registered Student Organizations, Student Union
Building, room 314, is provided jointly by the Student Government Association
and the Campus Activities Office.
Campus Activities sponsors a comprehensive activities Web site at http://www.umass.
edu/events/calendar.htm. SEF (Something Every Friday) is a weekly entertainment
series sponsored by Campus Activities; its events are listed on the events Web
site.
Campus Activities also provides a broad range of support services in the areas
of programming and advising via the following agencies: Center for Student Businesses,

Student Union Visual and Performing Arts Space, 545-0792; Student Union Craft

Legal Services Office, 545-1995; Commuter Services and Housing Resource Center,
545-0865; Office of ALANA Affairs, 545-2517; and Student Center for Educational
Research and Advocacy, 545-0355.
There are seven Cultural Centers within Campus Activities: Anacoana, 545-4387;
Josephine White Eagle, 545-1888; Latin American, 545-1571; Malcolm X, 545-1256;
Martin Luther King, 545-0578; Sylvan, 545-4712; and Yuri Kochiyama, 545-1822.
The Cultural Centers are responsible for initiating programs to promote cultural
awareness in the different residential areas and to sponsor annual activities
such as the Malcolm X cookout, Kwanzaa, and the UMass Powwow, for the University
community.
Campus Activities central office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays in room
416, Student Union Building. For information and for use of the service elevator
