The Department
The department's mission
is to facilitate the cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial development
of school children, youths, and young adults through research, service
focused on public policy, and development of model gra-duate training
programs for school-based professionals. Department faculty have a particular
concern for how social justice issues affect children's development. The
department does not offer an undergraduate major, but it does offer undergraduate
courses to meet the needs of students in related majors and certification
programs, and students fulfilling General Education requirements.
