Public Radio

WFCR at 88.5 FM is a public, noncommercial station broadcasting classical, jazz, and folk music, news, public affairs, and special interest programs. Studios are located in Hampshire House, tel. 545-0100.

The National Public Radio member station and Public Radio International affiliate serving over 140,000 listeners in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, and New Hamphsire, WFCR/88.5FM is the public radio licensee of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and operates under the advice and support of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith colleges. Student internships are available and students may be employed at the station as part-time control board operators, production assistants, or work study support staff. There is also a student radio station, WMUA, in the Campus Center.
