Fellowships, Internships, and Scholarships

There are a slew of fellowships, internships, grants, and scholarships out there aimed specifically at women in science and technology. Here you will find a (growing) list of opportunities ranging from the undergraduate to post-doctrocal levels.

Undergraduate Level

AT&T Labs Undergraduate Research Program
For college undergraduate woman or a member of a minority underrepresented in the sciences demonstrating interest and motivation in a subset of scientific fields who is not graduating prior to the summer.

Association of Women in Science (AWIS) Undergraduate Awards
Two AWIS undergraduate scholarships are awarded to high school seniors each year, including (1) the Vicki L. Schechtman Award and (2) the Gail Naughton Award. In addition, Citations of Merit ($300) and Recognition Awards ($100) may be given.

IBM/APS Research
Internship for Undergraduate Women. IBM offers a research internship program for undergraduate women in physics and related fields. The program is co-sponsored with the American Physical Society. This year, the program has been expanded and is now an IBM Research Division-wide program with locations in San Jose, California, Yorktown Heights, New York, and Austin, Texas. The internships are paid positions typically 10 weeks long, during the summer. The starting and ending dates are chosen so as not to conflict with the student's school schedule.
