Clean Vehicle Permits

Discounted parking permits are available for hybrid, electric, compressed natural gas (cng), liquefied petroleum gas (lpg), and bi-fuel vehicles.

UMASS is now offering discounted parking permits for "clean" vehicles. Qualifications are based upon California Air Resources Board and American Council for Energy Efficient Economy standards. Low-emitting vehicles are classified as zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) by the California Air Resources Board and fuel-efficient vehicles achieve a minimum green score of 40 according to the annual vehicle-rating guide of the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy.

This discount is intended to encourage the use of “clean” vehicles and reward those commuters already doing their part to reduce the environmental impact of the automobile. This discount is a two year discount of 20% off your annual parking permit. The Clean Vehicle Permit discount cannot be combined with other discounted programs including Occasional Parker Permits and Carpool permits.

The UMASS Commuter Options Program is designed to meet Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection guidelines under the Air Quality Program. Please call or visit Parking Services to take advantage of this special rate. Contact the Commuter Options Program Manager is you have a question regarding vehicle eligibility or visit the CARB website for the complete list of eligible vehicles.
