Visiting Scholars

The Translation Center has hosted scholars from all over the world. Since visiting scholars are self-funded, the time and dimensions of their stays are flexible. Visiting scholars are welcome to attend classes, seminars, or colloquia during their stay. They also might co-teach a course with a UMASS faculty member or design and offer their own workshops or other presentations. Any plans should be discussed with the Translation Center Director and any other faculty members involved in the visiting scholar's stay. Visiting scholars accepted to join the UMASS community usually receive a university email account and access to the University's library system.

Scholars, including translators, interested in spending time at the Translation Center should submit a curriculum vitae along with a letter of application which includes scholarly interests and plans, and the faculty member(s) or department/program you would like to work with. In your letter, please note any previous communication with a UMASS faculty member. Feel free to send other supporting documents such as a publication.

Send inquiries and applications to Dr. Regina Galasso at rgalasso@umass.edu
