“Medical Interpreting: Gaps and Opportunities for Collaborations” by Tim Moriarty

This is the third lecture of the Faculty and Community Seminar on Interpreting Studies and Practice. Tim Moriarty, Manager of Interpreter & Translation Services at Bay State Health, a large hospital system in MA, will discuss the work, skills, demands, and in-house training of healthcare interpreters and opportunities of collaborations between real-world needs for language mediation and academic institutions offering interpreter education. To make this event more accessible to a wider audience and those who cannot attend the lecture in person, we are also broadcasting the talks live using Zoom technology (click here for flyer and link). Remote attendees will be able to participate and ask questions using the chat feature in the online platform.
