  • Celebrating 40+ Years

Since 1979, the Translation Center has been providing multilingual services to clients and partners locally and beyond. We work with translators, interpreters, and other language professionals at the University, in the region, and from all over the world. Our experienced project managers oversee assignments and supervise university student assistants. Proceeds support educational and outreach initiatives to bring awareness to issues of language related to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.

  • Student Engagement

The Translation Center provides employment opportunities for students. They work closely with the Center's project managers on specific assignments and occasionally participate in the translation process as translators or reviewers. They also work with the Director on special projects and provide administrative support. Thanks to their time with us, students gain valuable professional experience and develop a deep awareness of responsible language use.

  • Celebrate Translators

A celebration of literary translators and Dr. Edwin Gentzler's enduring dedication to and continued support of translation featuring Massachusetts translators Catherine Ciepiela, Michael Favala Goldman, and Marc Vincenz.

The same faculty usually offer undergraduate and graduate courses on translation. The Translation Center is proud to sponsor translation- and language-related activities at UMASS and the Colleges!
