Miguel Ringler

Michael Ringler has been working as an actor, teacher, director and fight choreographer around the country for over twenty years. As an actor he has worked on television and Off-Broadway, where he worked with director Michael Mayer on the Obie-award winning production of Antigone in New York. He is a member of Actors Equity with an MFA in Acting from the University of Texas at Austin (1999).

Ringler has directed youth productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Tempest for the San Francisco Shakespeare Company as well as Beauty & the Beast and Grease for Solano College’s Youth Theatre Program.

His fight choreography has been seen around the country. He staged knife fights for Georgia Mountain Theatre’s national tour of Julius Caesar, in which he also played the role of Cassius.  He has also staged rapier/dagger and hand-to-hand fights in a number of productions at the University of Louisville, California State University Sacramento, and Smith College.  Here at UMass Amherst, he choreographed the fights for last season’s production of Marta the Divine.
